I N S P I R A T I O N
I woke up one morning and really wanted to make a chevrony pattern that was strong and colorful and painterly.
And so this is what I made. It’s exactly what I had visions of. Which is amazing… for once.
The title? Ummm, well you see I was creating this on my iPad and as I was trying to think of a name for the art my husband was flying his tiny remote control helicopter. It crashed. He said “Ahhhh think of the little people!” which is what I always say when he crashes it or lands it really awkwardly.
(almost every single time. but he’s really good at it, he says. it’s really hard to fly helicopters cuz of the orienteering you need to be able to do. he also says women are horrible at flying rc helicopters because we are missing that part of our brain. i love him.)
For some reason I get really tense whenever he flies his helicopter and I imagine there are little people inside the helicopter that have no choice but to fly around in it. They can never get out. They have to just deal with however he decides to fly it that day.
It’s sorta like a metaphor for life I suppose. If I want to get all woo-woo and thoughtful about it. Cuz in life you’re just thrown into circumstances sometimes that you don’t really have control over and you just have to deal.
Anyway for some reason I felt the title made sense and so it stuck. I’m an artist, nothing I do has to make sense. It just has to be cool.

my answer: I have “Procreate” for the iPad. Giggly name, but it’s so awesome. I did some research before buying a drawing/sketching app and this one was highly recommended by storyboard artists, painters and the like.
