Derecho Wallpaper

My palette has been influenced by weather graphics lately. There sure have been a lot of crazy colorful storms around here. Just check out the retina-burning red below that has been covering Washington, DC.

Also check out that dude. He’s all pixelated. Thanks, jerk storm for screwing up my reception. Kinda does look neat and freaky though…

FYI, a “Derecho” is a huge widespread windstorm that develops in an arc from a bunch of severe thunderstorms. On June 29, this happened in the DC area:

Yeah, check out how DC is at the end of that arc. The intensity was unreal. One minute we were leaving a party in the courtyard where it was silent and extremely hot. The next minute I go up to put on my pajamas and I look outside and trees are at a 45-degree angle and the wind was whipping around stones and glass. Crazy, right?

I freaked out a LOT because Mike had just taken out Spider. He texted me from behind a pillar and said him and the little guy were stuck outside with things falling all around them.

They survived. Just barely. Millions lost power for DAYS and WEEKS. Some people died from fallen trees. Ooo, I’m haunted by the stories of huge fallen trees to this day. Although now that I think about it, it wouldn’t be a bad way to go. Freak accidents are probably a pretty neat way to die.

Anyway… this design is my most colorful and intense yet. I like it. I wanna make more. And according to the “fashion experts” on the Today Show, RED is all the rage for fall wardrobes, ladies. You can start your autumn makeover right now by dressing up your deskie + mawr.

Waaaht do you think of this one? Please give me a shout out in the comments. I love to hear your thoughts on these types of things.
