I get in arguments with my husband. He thinks my name is sexy and I THINK its a name that belongs mainly to 40-something sad, big-butt librarians.

(If you are the latter, that’s ok! I’m sure you’re a very pleasant person and perhaps appealing in your very own way. Also I would hope you wouldn’t describe yourself in that manner. That’s not nice to yourself. You should consider what you are good at. Like cataloging stuff.)

Anyway. One day recently I felt compelled to look up all movies on Netflix pertaining to my namesake. The first one I watched was with Barbara Stanwyck ~ “The Lady Eve”. Somewhere along the way someone had mentioned she was the classic Hollywood sexthing. Why yes, she was quite the tempest and her character made use of her seemingly natural wit. Win.

That same night, I watched “Barbarella” and sketched this while Mike played video games. He had a headset on and the gaming buddies could hear the ridiculous horny (as in le instrument) 60′s music playing. They wondered what the hey was going on. Oh, just “41st century” boobs and nujity, that’s all. That Jane Fonda sure was a figurine. Win. I want to be her for Halloween. Nay, for life.

I did admire her ever-flowing costume changes. If you could call them that. They were more like “hey, let’s have this nunga hang out now. ok, now this one.”

So I guess what I’m discovering is that old-timey Barbaras are pretty attractive. And I want to lead the pack for the new age of sexy Barbras. Also Barbaras. Maybe?
