This one’s inspired by my lovely and talented friend Claudine. She really likes polka dots, I noticed. I wonder if she likes to Polka? I’ll have to ask her or perhaps just start polka-ing around to see if she’ll join in.

I’m so honored with her help and friendship over the past year. We meet every week and talk about hopes and dreams and how to make them real. She’s super determined and I like that.

Know how we met? Through the internet! I posted this tutorial on YouTube about nerding out with patterns and Adobe Illustrator. She really liked it and liked my cat too. I was super happy to help her with her graphic problems.

Then I mentioned I was moving to Washington, DC on Twitter. And then she was all like “OMG! I live here too! Let’s hug!” [not exact quote but sorta close]

Ever since, we’ve been meeting up every week, to, like I said, TALK ABOUT HOPES AND DREAMS. It’s good to have friends who understand the overwhelmyness of doing your own thing as an artist. We are creative freaks, in a city of consultants, lawyers, politicians, government workers and contractors. (Not saying the latter is bad, just ya know… more left-brainy.)

I really really appreciate her. I’m tearing right now.

Anyway, this one’s for her. And of course for you, if you like my edgy and circus-freak take on DOTS. I’m really liking the simplicity of them, don’t you?
