Maybe it’s that I’m currently in-between homes and that it’s turning dark and dreary here in Wisconsin, but I’m really feeling the gypsy thing.

These are the images that have been sitting on my desktop…

Boots and coats ~ completely essential in the frozen tundra.

Mmmm liberty prints. Art Nouveauy.

She looks like a Biba girl.

Purple hair and tattoos are pretty badass.
And then something just for fun…
Russian Gypsy Fire! (Five Stars on Amazon!!!)
I love the deep, sultry colors, even (or especially?) that purple on the Gypsy Fire dudes… All the embroidery and rich pattern feels intense and passionate ~ like some Russian Gypsy FIRE, baby!
This is sort of a weird pattern that I started the other day. I feel like it looks like alien plant life. I drew it with no reference or deep thought ~ and just doodled weird things as they came to me, like a vessel for otherwordly-ness. Sometimes it’s good to just act without a ton of thought. (Although yo mama might not agree. Ha.)

Just a goofy thing I sketched the other day whilst watching “War and Peace“. I’m really on an Audrey Hepburn kick lately.

She said “I order you to be happy!” to Henry Fonda’s character and I happened to be drawing a skull, so I guess I absent-mindedly doodled it at the same time. Silly.

Anywayssss… Happy Hallowed Weekend!

Khristian A Howell is once again sharing her experience in the independent artist realm with a new new ebook showing aspiring artists how to kick themselves in their own a$$ and make it happen. (To be fair ~ that’s in my own words, not hers ~ ha!)

Obsessed answers a lot of real answers she got from her fans regarding how she got started and all that she’s experienced in the three years of working as an independent artist. She always has some great nuggets of wisdom and her writing style is straightforward and fun. No bull here. (I own copies of both of her other books ~ good good stuff!)

Topics covered include brand building , business systems, marketing, agents and studios, licensing, pricing + negotiating, building work/life balance and the list goes on. Sounds kinda boring, right? But I’m certain she makes the read interesting and easy to digest. And this is the stuff you need to know in order to make. things. happen.

Pre-order is $45 until November 1 so you better get on this soon! (Price goes up to $65.)

If you’re serious about upping your creative game, grab your copy right here, right now!

I love twisting up a traditional toile by making it into a party scene! Thanks for all your cheeky print inspiration, Lilly Pulitzer.

I hear this print was inspired by a dinner party the print team had at Lilly’s home, and has all the designers doing assorted stuffs in it. Fun! Check out that monkey picture ~ I’d love to party at Lilly Pulitzer’s home some day….? ;)

Doesn’t it look so elegant and yet so quirky?

I did a little twist on the toile too! And you can buy it as a fabric right here at le Spoonflower.

Happy Friday everyone! Working on some fun secret stuff that I can’t wait to reveal :) Products with my prints on it ~ uhh is that too vague? Hehe.
