Custom Framed Pet Portraits

A UNIQUE PET PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE

Hi, I’m Barbra and this is not your typical custom pet portrait. It’s hand-painted and thoughtful.

Using the finest artist materials, each watercolor portrait will be of one pet in my painterly style.

It will have wild marks, indicating process and a study-like feel.

I don’t just work from photos, I compose a study of your little one based on the connection you have with them and the info you provide about them — likes, dislikes, personality, what makes them special, etc.

The portrait will feel like a special representation of them, not AI-generated or created just from a photo.

Having a close connection with my own pets, I understand the connection you have with your cutie and will create the perfect keepsake to represent that love.

Each portrait is professionally framed, as seen here in solid ash wood with a clear float, ready to hang and enjoy.

It will come beautifully wrapped — perfect for gift giving.

I’m a fun person to work with and I aim to make the process enjoyable. I’m open to all feedback and take nothing personally. Truly! Years of being an artist has taught me to be open — a mindset that has served me well and gotten me repeat clients.

As an add-on you can then order products featuring your pet! Bedding, home decor, pet beds, bandanas and more. In lavish materials such as silk, linen and cotton. Inquire about this bespoke service and see a few examples at the bottom of my pet portrait gallery page.

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 2

I’ll reach out for your pet’s photos + info.

STEP 3

Painting starts! You’ll get updates along the way — sneak peeks, timeline info, opportunities for feedback.

STEP 4

Once approved, your art is sent for framing.

STEP 5

Hang and enjoy your new keepsake.

PROCESS + TIMELINE

Each portrait takes about 4-6 weeks once you’re in the queue, (approx. 2-3 weeks for painting + 2-3 weeks for framing). Reach out for current wait times if your portrait is time-sensitive. I pride myself on good communication — you’ll get updates along the way via email.

WHAT I WILL NEED FROM YOU

I request 3-5 photos that show your pet’s full body — sitting, standing, laying or jumping are all fun poses. It’s best if they aren’t wearing collars or clothing unless you want that to be a part of the portrait. Worried your photos won’t be good enough as reference? Don’t worry — I can work with most photos and will request more if I need them. After you place your order I’ll be in touch to gather photos and info and we’ll take it from there.

ABOUT BARBRA + PETS

Your adorable pets are painted in my light-filled beach home in Santa Cruz, CA.

I am a lover of ALL creatures and am a guardian of two cuties named Tiki and Nougat, along with my sweetheart Mike.

Tiki is a Barbet (“bar-bay”) — aka a French Water Dog, which is a rare breed in the US. Poodles actually came out of this ancient breed. Tiki is a sensitive girl that loves wrestling with Nougat.

Nougat is a Russian Blue kitty who is a daredevil and thinks everyone is her friend. She’s not shy or skittish at all and LOVES teasing Tiki — she’s very unusual for an RB, which are typically quieter and shy. We share the same birthday! She’s my Gemini twin.

Mike and I enjoy training and working with them both — Nougat knows almost all of the same tricks as Tiki! Yep cat’s love training too! We are a happy family unit :)
